Man leaves scene of domestic violence disturbance with AK-47

Officials at the University of Texas Pan America were alerted after a man left the scene of an alleged domestic violence incident carrying an AK-47.

The incident occurred at an off campus apartment when a man and woman got into an argument and the man left the apartment carrying a few items that belonged to him. An AK-47 in a case was one of theses items.

Officials did not believe that the man was going to use the weapon, but they wanted to talk to him about the domestic disturbance issue. UTPA officials put an alert onto Facebook about the incident because they thought it was important for students to know that an armed suspect may be in the near area. The school was not put on lock down.
