Study done at UT shows holes in services given to sexual assault victims

A study done by researchers at the University of Texas at Austin has shown that improvements need to be done in the state of Texas in how victims of sexual assault are helped.

The lead investigator, a associate professor at the University of Texas School of Social Work, and the rest of the team worked to interview victims of domestic violence, police officers, domestic violence shelter advocates, nurses, and rape crisis center advocates.

After speaking with everyone, researchers found that a significant amount of money is needed in order to give support to adult victims of sexual assault. The study also suggests possible ways for the programs to receive funding.
