Texas new ‘Extreme DWI Law’ goes into affect

A new DWI law in Texas has now been put into affect and is currently a controversial topic.

The law went into affect just before Labor Day and its objective is to make the punishment more severe for those who are drunk driving. The new law, called “Extreme DWI Law” has changed the classification when a person has a blood alcohol content of 0.15 when driving.

It has now been changed from a Class B to a Class A misdemeanor. Those in favor of the law hope that the tougher punishment will stop people from drunk driving. Not everyone is a fan of the new law because they feel the current punishment is already enough.
