Dallas sees decrease in New Year’s DWI arrest

Police have announced that the number of drunk driving arrests in Dallas decreased during this year’s patrol.

This year, there were 31 arrests, which is three less than the New Year’s weekend last year. Police also stated that there was an increase in the number of people that voluntary used the breathalyzer test.

The holiday was a no refusal weekend, meaning police could obtain a search warrant for a blood sample if the person refused a test. Police obtained six search warrants this year, compared to 1o last year.
