Austin police make nearly 100 DWI arrest of holiday weekend

The Austin Police Department announced that they arrested 91 people for drunk driving over the Memorial Day holiday weekend, which was a large increase from the amount of people arrested in the same period on 2011.

In 2011, there as a total of 52 arrested. This year was a no-refusal weekend and the breakdown included, 48 people that gave breath samples, 44 with blood samples, and 36 who refused to give a sample of either.

According to KXAN.com, the highest blood alcohol level that was recorded was at a .34. There was one person who was arrested for boating while intoxicated.
