Jason Kidd, former Dallas Mavericks basketball player, arrested for drunk driving

Former Dallas Mavericks basketball player and current New York Knicks point guard Jason Kidd was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after he was in a car accident that occurred in the Hamptons over the weekend.

According to local police officials, Kidd crashed his vehicle into a telephone pole after veering off the side of the road just after 2 a.m. in Water Mill.

Sources close to Kidd have stated that he was returning from a charity event when the collision occurred. He has been charged and arraigned on driving while intoxicated charges but has pleaded not guilty. Kidd may face up to one year in jail if found guilty of the charge.
