Harris County sheriff injured in DUI crash

A sheriff in Harris County was recently injured in a car accident after he was involved in a head-on collision while stopped at a traffic light on northbound Texas 6.

According to a news release written by the sheriff’s office, the sheriff was waiting to turn left onto West Little York when a truck traveling southbound in the area crossed the center lane and struck the officer’s car.

The impact of this collision caused the deputy’s car to be pushed back into another police officers’ vehicle. The 16-year-old driver of the pickup truck was arrested as a result of the collision and has been charged with driving under the influence. The police officer was taken to Memorial Herman Cy-Fair Hospital where he is currently recovering from a wrist injury. No other injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
