Two teenagers arrested in Subway robbery and shooting

Two underage boys were charged with capital murder following a shooting incident that killed a customer during a robbery on September 17.

According to the police, Dante Wayne Talbert and Xavier Bernard Jones, both 17, went inside a Subway restaurant on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and robbed the establishment. One of the customers, 36-year old Christopher McGrew, fought back and was shot by Jones.

Talbert had already outstanding warrants from committing previous robberies at the neighboring bus stops. He was arrested on September 19 in a drug bust operation and later admitted his involvement in the robbery. Jones was arrested the following day but denied the allegations.
