West Texas man granted new trial

West Texas resident Daniel Villegas, who allegedly murdered two people in 1993, is set to have a bond hearing today, after the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals granted him a new trial.

In 1995, Villegas was sentenced to life in prison after allegedly killing two teenagers in an El Paso drive-by shooting.

In December, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals granted Villegas a new trial, claiming that his previous defense was ineffective.
