Man gets charged with assault for brandishing knife at woman

Fifty-two-year-old Ricky Armstrong is currently detained in the Dallas County Jail in Texas in lieu of a $50,500 bail after he was booked on Tuesday, November 8 on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and criminal mischief in relation to charging at a woman with a knife.

According to preliminary investigations made by police officers, Armstrong walked near the victim’s car, which was parked at around 8:30 a.m. in the 7400 block of Bonnie View Road near Interstate 20 in east Oak Cliff, holding out a cup and begging the woman for alms.

Police said the woman claimed that Armstrong tried to follow her even when she told him to leave her alone, prompting her to grab a baseball bat from her vehicle and hit him. He then pulled a knife on her and tried to cut her and threw the knife at her but missed.
